Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. The permanent collection of the Louisiana numbers over 3,000 works of modern art by artists such as Picasso and Warhol. In addition to the Louisiana’s collection of paintings, its sculpture park is home to work by Henry Moore. Each year it presents between 4 and 6 major exhibitions.

National Gallery of Denmark. In addition to its regular series of exhibitions, Denmark’s national gallery contains a 700 year old collection of paintings, sculpture and drawings, as well as more modern artwork such as photography and installation.

ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. In its permanent collection ARKEN has over 300 contemporary works from 1990 onwards. While it is concerned with predominantly Danish and Nordic artwork, the collection also includes international art. ARKEN presents a regular series of temporary exhibitions.

Ordrupgaard Museum. Ordrupgaard is a state-owned art museum situated north of Copenhagen. The museum houses one of Northern Europe’s most considerable collections of Danish and French art from the nineteenth to the beginning of the twentieth century.

The Royal Library is the national library of Denmark and the largest library in Scandinavia. Its archives contain every book printed in Denmark since the 17th century, and virtually all known Danish publications dating to the first Danish book, printed in 1482.

Theater Museum. Housed in Copenhagen’s Christianborg palace and built in 1767, the old Court Theater is now the Theater museum. The museum illustrates the story of Danish theatre from the time of playwright Ludvig Holberg to the present day, through a mixture of photographs, prints and costumes.
