German World Images 1890-1939: from Kollwitz to Nolde
20 April - 12 August. The Statens Museum for Kunst focuses on the period in German art history that ushered in Modernism, with an exhibition that presents more than 70 drawings, watercolours and graphic works from the Royal Collection of Graphic Art.
The show focuses on artists who played a leading role in defining German art, regardless of their nationality, in the decades that followed the birth of the nation in 1871.
The exhibition features works by artists such as Klee, Ernst, Kirchner, Kandinsky and Nolde.
